Tank-ex postponed

In the light of the current severe and continuing economic downturn, Tank-ex organisers G&T Events Ltd have reluctantly decided to postpone this year’s event, scheduled for September.

But Tank-ex is set to be back bigger and better next year, reflecting the tanker industry’s continued support for a dedicated tanker show.

G&T Director Dave Tallent said:

“The first Tank-ex last year was judged to be an overwhelming success by both exhibitors and visitors alike, and showed that there is a clear demand for a stand-alone tanker exhibition.

“However since then the global economy has slid into deep decline and the transport industry has been particularly hard hit.

“We are very disappointed that the show has had to be postponed but the current economic crisis means this year’s exhibition would not truly fully reflect the wide ranging goods and services on offer.

“In the circumstances we decided that the only correct and responsible course of action was to postpone Tank-ex until next year when hopefully things will have improved.

“We would like to thank all those who had committed to Tank-ex 09 and also those who have indicated their support for next year’s show, as well as our official partner, Motor Transport.
